BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State earned its second-consecutive victory, stopping visiting University of Rochester in four sets to open the six-team Bengal Challenge this evening, to open the six-team Bengal Challenge in the intimate Houston Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set saw each team with chances to draw first blood, but the Bengals took a 1-0 lead with a 31-29 win.
- After Rochester bounced back to win the second set, 25-21, the Bengals closed out the match with back-to-back 25-19 wins.
- Alyssa Durski (Eden/Eden) droved the Bengals offense with 33 assists and also had 14 digs, two blocks and two aces.
- Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) had a team-best 14 kills to go with 15 digs, while Eimile O'Brien (Marietta/Marcellus) added 10 kills and six blocks.
- Brittney Valentine (Marietta/Marcellus) led the Bengals with 17 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Alara Kocak led Rochester with 16 kills.
- Beth Ghyzel added 23 assists, and Courtney Vidovich tallied 22 digs.
