BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) pounded out 14 kills as Buffalo State won the final two sets to survive a five-set marathon for a non-conference win this evening over host Medaille.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals rallied from a 15-10 deficit in the first set, using a 9-1 run to take the lead, and then closed out the set 25-21.
- Buffalo State played from behind for much of the second set as well, but evened the score at 22-22, before Medaille claimed the final three points for a 25-22 win.
- Medaille took the third set 25-17, but the Bengals stayed alive in the fourth set with a 25-22 win and edged the Mavericks 17-15 in the clinching set.
- Maria Gelyon (W. Seneca/Immaculata) added seven kills in the win.
- Brittney Valentine (Marietta/Marcellus) led the Bengals with 18 digs.
- Alyssa Durski (Eden/Eden) finished with 23 assists and 14 digs.
- Allie Harford (Silver Creek/Silver Creek) chipped in four blocks to go with four kills.
FOR THE FOES
- Melissa Postek and Bailey Salemi led Medaille with 16 and 15 kills respectively.
- Savannah Berry had 40 assists.

Buffalo State will travel to Cleveland for the Marcia French Invitational this weekend hosted by Baldwin Wallace and Case Western. The Bengals will open with a pair of matches on Friday against Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. respectively.
