BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/John F. Kennedy) made 25 saves to record his fourth shutout of the season and lead No. 15/15 Buffalo State to its eighth straight win with a 4-0 victory over visiting Elmira this evening in the Buffalo State Ice Arena

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Vadim Vasjonkin (Tallinn, Estonia/Lake Forest Academy) scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Bengals.
- Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) finished with one goal and two assists for the game.
- Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) also scored for Buffalo State. Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius), Ryan Stayner (Youngstown, NY/Nichols) and Cody Symonds (Woodbridge, ON/Emily Carr) chipped in assists.
- Buffalo State opened the scoring just eight minutes into the first period as Vasjonkin picked up the loose puck in front of net and buried it home for his second of the season. Symonds and Bibb picked up assists on the play.
- The Bengals notched its second goal of the game, just under four minutes later, as Wood and Vasjonkin found themselves on a breakaway that ended with Wood sliding the puck past the goalie.
- Vasjonkin added his second of the game as he found an opening in the defense and sliced a one-timer to give the Bengals a 3-0 advantage. Bibb and Remers added assists on the goal.
- Buffalo State finished off its scoring as Bibb finished off a breakaway with a top corner short-handed goal with 6:51 left in the second period
- Sylves stopped 11 shot attempts by Elmira in the final period to complete the shutout.
- Buffalo State outshot the Soaring Eagles 27-25 in the game.
FOR THE FOES:
- Gennaro Anzevino finished with 23 saves in net for the Soaring Eagles.
NOTEWORTHY:
- With the win, Buffalo State broke its single-season record for most consecutive wins set back in the 2007-08 season.
