BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State controlled play for much of the first period, but could not capitalize, and nationally No. 1/2-ranked Plattsburgh responded with three goals in the second period to pull away for a 4-0 victory NEWHL game today at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State outshot the Cardinals 16-9 in the opening 20 minutes but were unable to break through.
- Plattsburgh pushed back in the second period and broke through with three goals before adding a second power-play goal of the game to complete the scoring late in the third period.
- The Cardinals finished 2 of 8 on the power play, while Buffalo State was 0 for 6.
- Plattsburgh finished with a 31-28 advantage in shots, including a 22-12 edge over the final 40 minutes.
- Justine Silva (El Monte, CA/Arroyo) made 27 saves in the loss.
