BUFFALO, N.Y.—A battle between two of the SUNYAC's top goalie lived up to the billing as
Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/JFK) made 30 stops for Buffalo State and Devin McDonald had 27 saves for No. 8/9 Geneseo in a 1-1 tie tonight at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo was the aggressor for much of the first period and opened the scoring with 41 seconds remaining in the frame on a shot that deflected off a Bengal defenseman and past Sylves.
- Buffalo State reversed the momentum in the second period, generating several chances before finally breaking through in the closing minutes on a rebounds goal by Ryan Stayner (Youngstown, NY/Nichols) with assists from Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) and Cody Symonds (Woodbridge, ON/Emily Carr).
- Sylves and McDonald would shut the door from there, even with each team drawing five-minute power plays late in the game with Geneseo's carrying over into overtime.
- The Knights finished with a 31-28 edge in shots on goal, including 5-1 in overtime.
- Both teams finished 0 for 3 on the power play.
