BUFFALO, N.Y.— Buffalo State scored just 1:16 into the game and pushed the lead to 4-0 early in the second period before Morrisville responded with three-straight goals to cut the deficit to one, but the host Bengals added an empty-netter to hold on for a 5-3 SUNYAC victory tonight at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jon Colley (Stouffville, ON/Stouffville District) and Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) led the Bengals with three points on a goal and two assists apiece.
- Andrew Husted (Niagara Falls, NY/Grand Island) netted a pair of goals, and fellow freshman Andrew Logar (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) also scored.
- Logar opened the scoring with his third of the season just 1:16 into the game.
- Buffalo State dominated the opening frame, outshooting the Mustangs 11-2 and led 3-0 by the intermission on goals by Maddox and Husted.
- Colley potted his first of the season in the opening minutes of the second period to grow the lead to 4-0.
- Morrisville outskated the Bengals from there, outshooting Buffalo State 18-9 in the middle frame, but managed only a single power-play goal.
- The Mustangs scored again just 40 seconds into the third period and then closed the deficit to 4-3 midway through the frame.
- The Bengals settled play from there and eventually sealed the win with Husted's second goal of the game and third of the season into the empty net in the final minute.
- Buffalo State finished the game with a 30-27 advantage in shots.
- Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) made 24 saves in the victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Morrisville's top line of Nick DeVito, Ben Sprague and CJ Stubbs all had a goal and an assist apiece.
- Jorgen Johnson finished with 25 saves in the loss.
