PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.—Nationally No. 1/2 Plattsburgh closed the game with eight unanswered goals to secure a 9-1 victory over visiting Buffalo State today in an NEWHL contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals opened the scoring five minutes into the game and the score remained 1-0 until Natasha Steinle (Morrison, CO/CIHA) evened things up with her fifth of the season on the power play seven minutes into the second period. Emily DeCock (Ramara, ON/Patrick Fogarty) and Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) were credited with assists.
- It would be all Plattsburgh from there, however, as the Cardinals got a natural hat trick from Courtney Moriarty before the second intermission and added five more goals on 20 third-period shots.
- Plattsburgh ended the game with a 51-20 advantage in shots on goal. The Cardinals were 4 of 8 on the power play, while the Bengals finished 1 for 6.
- Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) finished with 42 saves in the loss.
FOR THE FOES
- Moriarty finished with three goals and Melissa Sheeran had a goal and four assists to lead Plattsburgh.
