Buffalo State will make its 10
th appearance in the SUNYAC women's lacrosse playoffs, and third trip in the last four seasons, on Tuesday when it travels to No. 3 Brockport for a 4 p.m. start.
The sixth-seeded Bengals are 7-10 overall and posted a 3-5 record in the conference regular season with victories over Fredonia, Potsdam and New Paltz. The Golden Eagles (7-8/6-2) topped the Bengals 18-8 on April 17 in Brockport.
Buffalo State and Brockport have met on three previous occasions in the postseason, with the Golden Eagles claiming all three meetings, most recently winning 16-6 in 2011.
Christina Krowel (Amsterdam/B.H.-B.L.) leads Buffalo State with 47 goals and 55 points, followed by
Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) with 35 goals and 48 points.
Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) leads the SUNYAC with 87 draw controls.
Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) has an 11.88 goals against average and a .453 save percentage while ranking second in the conference with 39 ground balls.
Haley Kempf (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy) leads the Bengals' defense with 23 caused turnovers.
The winner will advance to the semifinals and will face No. 2 Geneseo on Friday at 4 p.m. at top-seeded Cortland.
