MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Buffalo State opened the 2018 season today at the Morrisville State Invitational dropping a pair of four-set matches against SUNY Poly and Hartwick.
MATCH #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: SUNY Poly def. Buffalo State, 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SUNY Poly claimed the first two sets, but the Bengals prolonged the match with a 25-21 win in the third set, only to fall 25-19 in the fourth.
- Eimile O'Brien (Marietta/Marcellus) paced Buffalo State's offense in the opening match with eight kills and just one attacking error.
- Hanna Cormier (Fort Edward/Warhill) tallied 17 digs.
- Tyler Reis (Meridianville, AL/Hazel Green) and Brooke Federko (Jamestown/Jamestown) totaled 11 assists apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams split the first two sets with Hartwick striking first, and the Hawks went on to close out the match with a pair of 25-16 wins.
- Brooke Latour (Lakewood/Southwestern) led Buffalo State with eight kills, while O'Brien and Danneile Arcuri (Holland Patent/Holland Patent) chipped in seven apiece.
- Reis dished out 15 assists.
