ALFRED, N.Y.— Buffalo State used a pair of early goals in each half to defeat host Alfred University 4-2 in tonight's non-conference regular season finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pa Lu (Buffalo/International Prep) and Zak Shaibi (Buffalo/McKinley) had a goal and an assist each, and Issak Sabtow (Buffalo/McKinley) and Moe Saif (Lackawanna/Coppell (TX)) also scored.
- The Bengals rested most of their regular starters in advance of Saturday's playoff game.
- Saif opened the scoring in the 12th minutes, and Lu doubled the lead in the 18th minute for Buffalo State.
- Alfred netted its first goal late in the first half to close the deficit to one at the intermission.
- Sabtow and Shaibi quickly pushed the lead to 4-1 in the second half with Sabtow striking in the 50th minute and Shaibi finding the net just 1:44 later.
- Alfred closed out the scoring in the 56th minute.
- Buffalo State finished with a 17-7 advantage in shots.
- Freshman goalkeeper Max Shoemaker (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) made one save in the win in his first collegiate action.

- Buffalo State matched the program's second-highest single-season win total of 14, just one shy of the school record set in 1982.
