Women’s Lacrosse freezes Allegheny, 13-2

BUFFALO, N.Y.-- Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) scored five times and Buffalo State scored the final 10 goals of the game to cruise to a 13-2 victory over visiting Allegheny in a non-conference game today at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Schaefer finished with six points on five goals and one assist. 
  • Kendall Skuse (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) dished out a game-high six assists.
  • Hannah Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) added a goal and three assists, while Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) scored three times.
  • Mary Musialowski (Lancaster/Sacred Heart) chipped in a pair of goals, and Kayla Rose (Lancaster/Lancaster) and Kali Wright (Wyoming/Alexander) also scored.
  • Schaefer opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game, but Allegheny answered less than three minutes later. 
  • After a pair of quick goals by the Bengals, the Gators closed to a 3-2 margin less than 10 minutes into the contest. 
  • Buffalo State took control from there, however, scoring the final four goals of the first half, and then continued to pull away with the only six goals of the second frame.
  • Buffalo State outshot Allegheny 21-10 for the game and 9-2 in the second half.
  • The Bengals also dominated on the ground with a 25-12 advantage in ground balls.
  • Janae Nelson (Elmont/Elmont Memorial) only needed to make four saves in the victory.
  • Melissa Camp (Walworth/Gananda) led the Bengals with six ground balls and four draw controls.

  • Brenna Lawler and Evi Malagise scored for Allegheny.
