POTSDAM, N.Y.—Buffalo State's
Zak Shaibi (Buffalo/McKinley) scored on bicycle kick with one second remaining in regulation to force overtime, but Potsdam scored in the extra session to hand the visiting Bengals their first defeat of the season, 2-1, in today's SUNYAC opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team could break through in the first half with Buffalo State holding a narrow 8-6 advantage in shot attempts.
- Potsdam got on the scoreboard first in the 48th minute, but Buffalo State took control from there, peppering the Bears' goal with 15 second-half shots compared to just three by Potsdam.
- Shaibi finally connected on the dramatic final shot of the half with just one second remaining lofting a bicycle kick just under the cross bar for his ninth goal of the season.
- Potsdam scored on its only shot of overtime, however, netting the game-winner in the 98th minute.
- Buffalo State finished with a 25-10 shots advantage and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
- Andreas Queen (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) made three saves in the loss.
NOTEWORTHY
- Prior to Potsdam's first goal, Buffalo State did not concede a goal for 519 minutes and 46 seconds of game time.
