BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State scored a pair of third-period goals to claim a 4-3 victory over visiting Fredonia tonight in a SUNYAC and Battle by the Lake contest at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) scored twice to lead Buffalo State, and Matt Minerva (Commack, NY/Commack) and A.J. Marinelli (Amherst, NY/Kenmore East) also scored.
- Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia) and Vadim Vasjonkin (Tallinn, Estonia) added a pair of assists apiece.
- The teams combined for five goals in the first period and then played to a scoreless middle frame.
- Remers opened the scoring off a slick feed from Kozyrev just 23 seconds into the game.
- The Blue Devils responded with three straight goals, including a shorthanded tally, but Buffalo State pulled withing one in the closing minutes of the opening period on Remers' second of the game and 11th of the season on the power play.
- The freshman Minerva fired a shot home for his first goal as a Bengal early in the third period to even the score, and Marinelli cleaned up a rebound from Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) for the game-winner with 14:05 remaining.
- Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Jensen) finished with 23 saves, including all 19 shots he faced over the final two periods.
- The Bengals outshot Fredonia 32-26 for the game and finished 2 for 7 on the power play, while the Blue Devils were 0 for 4.

- Jacob Haynes scored twice and Ryan Dunner also scored for Fredonia.
NOTEWORTHY
- With the win, Buffalo State earned a point in the season-long all-sports Battle by the Lake competition, giving the Bengals an 8-7 lead in the season series.
