BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State came close on a number of occasions, but could not break through, dropping a 2-0 home decision tonight in a SUNYAC contest against Brockport.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Brockport capitalized on a 5-on-3 power-play with five minutes remaining in the first period to take the lead.
• Buffalo State hit the cross bar three times in the second period, including a pair by Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia), but were not able to even the score.
• The Golden Eagles extended their lead when they converted on a defensive zone turnover by the Bengals just 1:23 into the final frame. 
• Buffalo State could not get on the board, finishing 0 of 6 on the power play, including failing to score during major penalty for the final 3:29 of the game.
• Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Jensen) made 22 saves in goal in the loss.
• Brockport outshot the Bengals 24-22 for the game and limited Buffalo State to just 10 shots in the first two periods.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Ryan Romeo and Jeremy Solat scored for Brockport, and Matt Schneider made 22 saves for his second career shutout.
