OSWEGO, N.Y.—Buffalo State scored a pair of third period goals, but its comeback bid fell short in a 3-2 loss tonight at Oswego.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period and then extended the lead with a pair of early goals in the final frame.
- Charles Barber (Queensbury, NY/Lake George) finally put the Bengals on the board midway through the third with assists from Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia) and Troy Button (Royal Oak, MI/Shrine Catholic).
- Matt Minerva (Commack, NY/Commack) cut the deficit to one with 5:07 remaining with assists from Kozyrev and Brendon Zack (Sarver, PA/Freeport Area), but the Bengals were unable to find the equalizer.
- Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Jensen) gave the Bengals a chance making 37 saves as Oswego held a 40-28 advantage in shots on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Jody Sullivan, Travis Broughman and Alex DiCarlo scored for Oswego.
- Steven Kozikoski finished with 26 saves.
