Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) scored the game-winning goal in the third to lift Buffalo State to a 2-1 victory over host Cortland in tonight's regular-season finale to secure the No. 3 seed entering the SUNYAC playoffs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia) opened the scoring with his ninth goal of the season on the power-play less than six minutes into the game with assists from Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) and Jon Colley (Stouffville, ON/Stouffville District).
- After killing off a five-minute major early in the second period, Cortland responded with a power-play goal of its own midway through the frame to even the score.
- Remers netted his team best 13th of the season unassisted with 11:23 remaining in regulation to put the Bengals back in front for good.
- Trevor Micucci (Hamburg, NY/Connections Acad.) made 27 saves in the win as the Bengals outshot Cortland, 38-28.
- Buffalo State finished 1 for 5 on the power play, while Cortland was 1 for 3.
NOTEWORTHY
- Remers moved into sole possession of 10th on Buffalo State's all-time scoring list with his 86th career point (37 goals and 49 assists).
FOR THE FOES
- Shane Beaulieu scored Cortland's lone goal and Nick Modica made 36 saves.
