Women's Soccer shut out by Plattsburgh

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Plattsburgh started off strong, scoring five first-half goals as the Buffalo State women's soccer team dropped a home contest to the Cardinals by a 5-0 tally, in SUNYAC action from Coyer Field Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Plattsburgh struck in just the third minute, as Kirsten Villemaire took a shot from outside the penalty box, about 20 yards away as the chance went over the keeper's head and into net.
  • Avery Durgan doubled the score in the 11th minute, scoring on a chance from just inside the penalty box.
  • Plattsburgh scored its third goal in the 30th minute, as Allison Seidman played a give-and-go pass to Emily Frodyma, who found Seidman in front of net as she chipped the keeper.
  • Lauren Vellecca got on the board for the Cardinals in the 34th minute, going around the Bengal defenders, tapping the chance into net.
  • Frodyma finished the three-point afternoon in the 39th minute. On a run down the left side, she dribbled the ball away from the defender and the diving keeper and tapped the chance into the open net.
