BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo State men's hockey team lost fell 5-1 to Plattsburgh on Friday evening at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals took advantage of a Buffalo State turnover to score the first goal just 53 seconds into the game, as Hunter Alden slotted home from in close.
- The Bengals tied the game just six minutes later as Vanuden skated behind the Plattsburgh net with the puck and sent a perfect pass to Marinelli out front for a tap-in goal.
- With eight minutes remaining in the period, Joel Frazee (Monroe, MI/Shreveport Mudbugs) was denied by a great save on a breakaway attempt.
- Plattsburgh took the lead for good with under four minutes left in the period, as Bennet Stockdale slid a shot from in front right into the net.
- Plattsburgh added a power-play goal, and another even-strength goal in the second period for a 4-1 lead after two periods.
- On a delayed penalty in the third period, Marcus Mitchell came on for the Cardinals as an extra skater as they pulled their goalie, and Mitchell redirected a shot into the net for the final tally.
THE FOES
- Alden scored and added an assist for Plattsburgh, who had five different goal scorers in the game.
- Anthony Del Tufo stopped 29 of 30 shots for the win in net.
