OSWEGO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team dropped their NEWHL opener on the road against Oswego 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

- Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) made a career-high 51 saves in goal for the Bengals.
- Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) scored the lone goal for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cruzal opened up the scoring in the game with a goal with just under two minutes remaining in the opening period.
- Auge stopped all 20 shots that she faced in the first period to give the Bengals a 1-0 into the first intermission.
- The Lakers responded by scoring two goals in the opening four minutes of the second period, and added a third goal midway through the period to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
- Buffalo State was unable to convert on any of their three power play opportunities in the second period.
- Oswego scored five goals in the third period to break open the game.
- The Bengals were outshot 59-7 in the game.
