BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State used a three-run seventh inning to walk off with a split today against visiting Geneseo, claiming the second game 6-5 after dropping the opening contest 6-5 in eight innings.
GAME 1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo rallied to erase a 4-2 deficit with a two-run sixth inning and then earned the game one victory in the first extra inning.
- The Knights plated a pair of runs on two hits and an error in the top of the eighth.
- Taylor Benton (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) blasted a home run to center field on the first pitch of the Bengals' half of the eighth, but Buffalo State was unable to score the equalizer.
- Benton finished 3 for 4 with a double, a homer and two RBIs.
- Oriana Castello (Pearl River/Nanuet) continued her hot stretch, going 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI.
- Makena Adams (Randolph/Frewsburg) pitched the complete game, scattering 10 hits and allowing just two earned runs with three strikeouts.
- The Bengals finished with 11 hits, but committed four errors.
FOR THE FOES
- Samantha Seeger was 2 for 4 with a home run for Geneseo, and Katherine Hayes was w for 3 with an RBI.
- Mattie Woodard earned the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings of relieve, allowing six hits and three runs with 10 strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh including the game winner on a walk-off RBI single by Sydney McIntosh (Buffalo/Kenmore West) to claim the second game 6-5.
- The Knights broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to set up the dramatic comeback.
- The Bengals loaded the bases with one out and Savannah Sirico (Mount Marion/Saugerties) singled in the first run, followed by an RBI walk by Kayla Wolinski (Lancaster/Lancaster) before McIntosh ended the game with a single through the right side.
- Sirico was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
- Wolinski was 1 for 3 with a towering home run and two RBIs, and Hannah Kwasniewski (Blasdell/St. Mary's) was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
- Olivia Carr (West Falls/East Aurora) earned her first collegiate win, pitching four innings of relief, allowing five hits and two runs.
FOR THE FOES
- Lauren Kersch took the loss for Geneseo, allowing eight hits and six runs with three strikeouts and three walks. She was also 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs.
- Leah Vanderwarker was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs.
Buffalo State will next visit Brockport on Wednesday.
