BROCKPORT, N.Y.—Buffalo State shut Brockport down in today's opener for a 4-1 victory, but the host Golden Eagles exploded for a 9-1 five-inning victory in the night cap.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Makena Adams (Randolph/Frewsburg) continued her strong pitching in the opener, tossing a complete-game six-hitter and allowed no earned runs in the 4-1 victory.
- Caitlyn Parsons (Webster/Webster Thomas) was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.
- Hannah Kwasniewski (Blasdell/St. Mary's) was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Sydney McIntosh (Buffalo/Kenmore West) finished 2 for 4 with an RBI.
- The Bengals opened the scoring with a run in the second and extended the lead to 3-0 with a pair of runs in the fourth.
- Brockport cut the lead to 3-1, scoring on an error in the bottom of the fourth, but the Bengals added an insurance run in the seventh to seal the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Emily Willis Nersinger was 2 for 3 with a run scored for Brockport, and Catherine Johnson was the losing pitcher, allowing nine hits and four runs with six strikeouts.

- Brockport made short work of the Bengals in the late game, plating six runs on six hits and an error in the first inning and never looked back.
- The Bengals scored their run in the second, but Brockport added two more runs in the bottom of the second and then another in the fifth to end the game.
- Kwasniewski was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI, and Taylor Benton (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) was 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored.
FOR THE FOES
- Brockport had 15 hits in just four official innings.
- Madison Evarts was 3 for 3 with an RBI, and Willis Nersinger was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored.
