ROCHESTER, N.Y.— Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway/Heltberg) slotted home a penalty kick in the 78
th minute for the only goal in a 1-0 victory for the Buffalo State men's soccer team on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was chippy from the beginning, with a total of seven yellows, four for the Bengals and three for the Cardinals.
- Solid passing between Hosa Omar (Buffalo, N.Y./Lackawanna) and Zak Shaibi (Buffalo, N.Y./McKinley) allowed the Bengals to break through the St. John Fisher defense on the way to creating the penalty kick opportunity for the Bengals.
- Shaibi fed a through ball to Moe Saif (Lackawanna, N.Y./Coppell (T.X.) down the right sideline, who made a move towards goal before having his heels clipped by a defender just inside of the box.
- Pencic stepped up to the spot and finished to the left as the goalkeeper dove the other way.
- The Bengals held on in the final minutes as the Cardinals pushed for an equalizer.
- Buffalo State outshot St. John Fisher by a 18-9 margin, and the Bengals had nine shots on goal to six for the Cardinals.
FOR THE FOES
- Justin Bonetto had three shots on goal for the Cardinals.
- Goalkeeper Jaden Schlierf stopped seven shots in a losing effort.
