Grove City, Pa. – Down a goal with 10 minutes to go, the Buffalo State men's soccer team struck twice with goals from
Anthony Roncone (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca East) and
Zak Shaibi (Buffalo, N.Y./McKinley) as the Bengals took down Grove City by a 3-2 score to win their fifth consecutive contest.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway/Heltberg) tallied his fourth goal of the season, tallying two shots.
- Roncone led the team with three shots on goal, scoring and assisting on Pencic's goal.
- Shaibi tallied his second goal of the season, taking three shots in 58 minutes.
- Dylan Guarino (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) made three saves to pick up his second victory of the season.
- Buffalo State out shot Grove City by a narrow margin, 13-11, but held a 10-5 advantage in shots on target.
- The Bengals lead the all-time series against the Wolverines with a 6-0-2 advantage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grove City jumped out early in the 14th minute, as the Wolverines took advantage of a free kick opportunity. Aaron McFeaters headed the feed from Kennan Roewer inside the penalty box over Guarino.
- 'State tied things up nearly seven minutes later, as Roncone's pass from the end line found Pencic in front of net, as Pencic's first touch beat Luke Greenwayto his right.
- Grove City took the lead in the 81st minute as Hunter Hardin beat a scrum of defenders to finish past Guarino.
- A minute later, Hardin nearly scored again, as his 1-on-1 chance with the goalie curled to the left of the net.
- Buffalo State made Hardin pay seconds later, as Pencic fed a streaking Roncone on the left side. Roncone beat a Grove City defender and finished with his right foot past the diving goalkeeper in the 83rd minute.
- The Bengals took the lead in the 89th minute, stunning the Wolverine faithful as Shaibi beat three Grove City defenders, turning and firing a low shot past the Grove City goalie.
FOR THE FOES
- McFeaters and Hardin tallied their first and second goals of the season, respectively, for Grove City.
- Hardin led the team with four shots, three on goal.
- Roewer added an assist on McFeaters' goal.
- Greenway made seven saves in the losing effort.
