BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo State women's basketball team used a 13-0 to begin the third quarter to overcome a six-point halftime deficit in a 56-51 victory over SUNYAC foe Potsdam on Tuesday afternoon at the Sports Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Potsdam raced out to an 8-4 lead midway through the opening quarter, but Buffalo State responded with a 7-0 run to take a three-point lead.
- Tied at 11-11 in the last minute of the first quarter, the Bengals ended the frame on a 5-0 run, capped by a long-range 3-pointer by Cornfield with one second remaining for a 16-11 lead.
- The Bears began to claw back in the second quarter, and a Dyamon Hunter 3-pointer gave Potsdam a 23-22 lead.
- Potsdam closed the half on a 7-2 run to take a 32-26 halftime lead.
- The Bengals opened the half on an 13-0 run to take a 39-32 advantage thanks to seven points by Cornfield, three points from Jones, and a Domin 3-pointer.
- The Buffalo State defense held Potsdam to just seven points in the quarter to take a 42-39 lead into the fourth.
- The teams traded baskets early in the fourth quarter, and Buffalo State held a 48-42 lead with 5:29 remaining.
- With the Bengals leading 48-46 with one minute remaining, Domin knocked down a pair of free throws to extend the lead to four.
- After a three-point play by the Bears with under thirty seconds left, Heaven Rollek (Springville, NY/Springville-Griffith) and Domin iced the game by each knocking down a pair of free throws on consecutive possessions.

- Jakia Howard had a game-high 19 points to lead Potsdam.
- Alyson Crosby grabbed 11 rebounds, while Caroline LaFountain tallied 10 boards.
