INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) scored the lone goal for Buffalo State, her team-leading fifth of the season.
  • Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Elite Southern Express) and Rianna Schacher (Westminster, CO/Minnesota Revolution) added assists on Cruzal's goal.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) turned aside 23 shots.
  • Bethany Horvatits (Elma, NY/Cazenovia Chiefs) won 21 of 33 faceoff attempts for a .636 percentage.
  • Buffalo State held a 43-24 advantage in shots on goal over the Raiders.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bengals came out firing in the first period, dominating possession in the opening minutes of the frame, but were thwarted on a few solid opportunities early.
  • With just over a minute remaining in the period, Horvatits blocked a Rivier shot from the point and created a mini-breakaway opportunity, but her shot was saved with a pad save at the far post.
  • Auge was rarely tested in the opening period, as the Bengals held the Raiders to just two shots on goal.
  • Just four minutes into the second period, Running Rabbit slid a perfect pass across the crease for a tap-in goal by Cruzal to give the Bengals a 1-0 lead.
  • The Buffalo State lead was short-lived, as Angeline Rasby snapped a wrist shot past Auge less than a minute later to tied the score at 1-1.
  • Midway through the period, Autumn Benedict (Akwesasne, NY/ Cornwall Typhoons) made an excellent defensive play to chase down a Rivier skater on a breakaway attempt and redirect the shot off target.
  • The teams entered the second intermission tied at 1-1, with the Bengals holding a 27-12 edge in shots after two periods.
  • Running Rabbit had the best chance of the third period, ringing a shot off the right post, and the Rivier goalie was able to fall on it before an onslaught of Buffalo State attackers could jam the rebound into the net.
  • The despite a 13-5 shot edge in the third period, the Bengals couldn't capitalize for the winning goal as the teams headed to overtime.
  • In the overtime period, Auge made two sprawling saves to keep the game even, and Hannah Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Washington Pride) was denied at the other end with just one minute remaining as neither team could find a winner.

FOR THE FOES
  • Maddy Morgan was excellent in goal, making 42 saves to keep the Raiders in the game.
