BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo State women's volleyball team won a four-set thriller over Houghton tonight.
Liz Schultheis (Holley, NY/Brockport) led the way for the Bengals with 13 kills and 5 total blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set was a back-and-forth affair. Both teams held a lead at some point until Houghton was able to sneak the last two points.
- In set 2, the Bengals led the entire way to even the match.
- Set 3 was dominance from the Bengals as Schultheis set the tone offensively.
- Amia Carter (Baltimore, MD/Chesapeake) earned her first collegiate kill and set up Platler to finish it off.
- Buffalo State started set 4 on a 5-0 run. The Highlanders refused to go down and clawed their way back, making it another back-and-forth effort.
- Mergler delivered the final blow to secure the Bengals win.
FOR THE FOES
- Julie Immel and Alyssa Lyon each had 11 kills for the Highlanders.
