UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH – The Buffalo State men's basketball team opened their season with day one of the John Carroll Tournament as they fell 79-63 against Ohio Wesleyan. The team will wrap-up their tournament stay tomorrow afternoon.

- Jaiden Allen (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) led the way for the Bengals with 11 points.
- Robert Richards (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) added 10 points of his own and was 2-2 from the free throw line.
- Tyron Smith (New York, NY/Thurgood Marshall) led Buffalo State with 4 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Battling Bishops jumped out to an early 7-0 lead.
- Buffalo State rallied back and eventually would take 17-15 lead after Richards scored on a fastbreak.
- The two teams would stay locked-up, until Ohio Wesleyan ended the half on an 18-9 run, going into the second half up 39-30.
- In the second half, the Bishops continued to build their cushion.
- The Bengals would go on an 11-4 run late in the half but ultimately fell short.
FOR THE FOES
- Jack Clement led the way for Ohio Wesleyan with 24 points.
- David Rice added 8 points of his own and had a team-high 12 rebounds.
