POTSDAM, NY – Host Potsdam scored first, but the Buffalo State men's hockey team responded with five consecutive goals to earn a decisive 5-1 victory in SUNYAC action on Friday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- A.J. Marinelli (Amherst, NY/Lockport Regals) and Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia/Springfield Jr. Blues) each netted a pair of goals to lead Buffalo State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period of the game was scoreless, with Potsdam dominating possession and holding a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Bears got on the board first with a goal by Drew Rose just before the midway point of the second period.
- Marinelli equalized for Buffalo State just over three minutes later after a pair of Potsdam penalties gave the Bengals a 5-on-3 power play. Marinelli was able to avoid a sliding defender and snap a shot past the Potsdam goalie.
- After a successful penalty kill by the Bengals, Frazee netted the eventual game-winner with a shot off the back of the Potsdam goalie.
- The Bengals netted a pair of goals in the opening two minutes of the third period, as Kozyrev deflected a pass from Tyler Vanuden (Fort Frances, ON/Finlandia University) over the shoulder of the goalie. Forty seconds later, Marinelli scored his second goal of the game after a centering pass deflected off a Potsdam defender.
- Kozyrev netted his second goal of the game on a wrist shot from a dangerous area in front of goal to wrap up the scoring.
