Men's Hockey Hits the Road for Matchup with Brockport

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team will visit the Golden Eagles of Brockport tonight at 7 at Wegmans Ice Arena. The Bengals are coming off a hard-fought home loss last night against the No. 8 Geneseo Knights, falling 3-2. Brockport also lost by a one-goal margin Friday night, a 1-0 road defeat at the hands of Fredonia.

THE BENGAL REPORT

· Buffalo State sits at 5-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play heading into tonight's matchup.

· Tyler Vanuden (Fort Frances, ON/Finlandia University) was the first Bengal to score last night, bringing his team-leading and SUNYAC-leading goal total to eight on the season.

· Assisting on the goal were Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers) and Parker Allison (Dallas, TX/Neepawa Natives). Bizal increased his assist tally to 10 this year, the leader in the conference in the category.

· Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia/Springfield Jr. Blues) notched his first power-play goal of the season and sixth goal overall. Nick Stuckless (Orangeville, ON/Skidmore College) and Hayden Ford (Medford, NJ/Philadelphia Revolution) assisted on the play for their fifth and second assists, respectively.

THE BROCKPORT BRIEF

· The Golden Eagles own a 3-6 record so far this season, and a 2-4 mark in SUNYAC action.

· In Friday night's game, Brockport was unable to convert any of its six power play opportunities. Adding insult to injury, they gave up the game-winning goal to a shorthanded Blue Devils unit in the third period.

· Matt Anastasio leads the Brockport offense with five goals on the campaign, followed closely by Andrew Harley's four.

· Five Golden Eagles players have six or more points in the early portion of the season, showing their balanced attack.

THE HISTORY

· In 61 previous games, Buffalo State owns a 32-22-7 advantage over Brockport.
