ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State track and field teams wrapped up the fall semester with solid individual performances at the Nazareth Alumni Opener on Friday evening, culminating in seven Bengals surpassing regional qualifying marks.
THE BASICS

FOR THE BENGAL WOMEN
- Nat Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) took first place in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.18 in the prelims seconds to qualify for the regional championships, then besting that time with a 9.15 second run in the finals.
- Sawyer, Tori Florzcak (Depew, NY/St. Mary's of Lancaster), Brooklyn Lawrence (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga Central), and Destiny Rivera (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Liberal Arts) teamed up to take fifth in the 4X400.
FOR THE BENGAL MEN
- Devin Austin (Kennedy, NY/Falconer) cleared 1.51 meters in the high jump, finishing second.
- Chris Kaszynski (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) finished second in the pole vault at 4.40 meters.
- Jarrod Polk (Bolivar, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) launched himself a distance of 7.04 meters to qualify for regionals in the long jump, finishing in third place. Shevaughn Allen (Buffalo, NY/JFK) and Nas Muslim Dost (Buffalo, NY/Maryvale) both also topped the regional qualifying distance of 6.65 meters.
- Tyler McGrath (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) took fourth place in the 60-meter in a regional qualifying time of 7.09 seconds. Polk also qualified for regionals in the event with a time of 7.25 seconds.
- Dylan Devine (Brockport, NY/Brockport) topped his heat in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.41 seconds.
