BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo State men's hockey team looks to finish a long road trip and begin the final home stretch of contests in the regular season, as the Bengals take on SUNYAC foes Brockport and Geneseo this weekend.

Buffalo State begins the weekend with one final road trip in the regular season, as it makes the short trip to visit Brockport from Tuttle North Ice Arena on Friday, with action to begin at 7 p.m. The Bengals then return home Saturday for a regular-season ending, three-game home stand as third-ranked Geneseo comes to the Buffalo State Ice Arena in a 7 p.m. start.

Breaking Down the Bengals

• The Bengals (4-16, 2-10 SUNYAC) look to extinguish a 12-game losing streak and step back into the SUNYAC playoff picture with four conference games to go. The team sits in ninth place in the conference race, three points behind Potsdam and eight behind Fredonia, and one ahead of Morrisville State as the teams look to battle for the final postseason spot.
• The Bengals fell in a close matchup at Plattsburgh, a 4-3 score. They finished the weekend with a 5-1 loss at Potsdam.

A Gander at the Golden Eagles

• Brockport (13-7-2, 6-5-2 SUNYAC) begins the weekend in fifth place with 20 points, having already clinched a postseason spot. They are one point behind Cortland and are looking to host a playoff game for the second year in a row.
• The Golden Eagles fell to No. 13 Oswego by a 7-3 score last Friday and earned a 3-3 draw at home against Cortland Saturday.
• Brockport is 16th nationally in scoring offense (3.82 goals per game) and 19th in scoring defense (2.27 goals per game).
• Ryan Romeo leads the conference and is fifth nationally with 1.05 assists per game.
• Romeo leads the team with 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists), followed by Andrew Harley with 29 points (13 goals and 16 assists) and Connor Galloway with 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists).
• Nolan Egbert sports a .919 save percentage and a 2.37 goals against average in 17 starts.

 
Know the Knights

• Geneseo (18-2-1, 10-1-1 SUNYAC), ranked third in the latest USCHO.com national hockey rankings, is three points back of Oswego with 31 points with four games to go and two in hand on the league leaders.
• The Knights suffered their first league loss last weekend, falling to Cortland by a 2-0 score, but rallied to defeat No. 13 Oswego by a 4-2 score last Saturday.
• Geneseo is fifth nationally in scoring defense (1.52 goals allowed per game), third in scoring margin (+3.10 goals), and 10th in power-play percentage (26.4 percent).
• Justin Cmunt is second nationally with seven power-play goals and Dan Bosio is eighth with six.
• Peter Morgan leads the team with 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists), followed by Bosio with 22 points (15 goals, seven assists) and Tyson Gilmour with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists).
• Matt Petizian is fourth nationally with a 1.44 goals against average and sixth with a .941 save percentage.
