BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to SUNYAC foe Cortland on Friday night at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
-The Bengals started the game on the front foot, being the aggressor in the opening minutes of the first period.
 
-Vanuden was stopped well by Cortland goalie Luca Durante on a good opportunity with eight minutes left in the frame.
 
-The Bengals outshot the Red Dragons 12-7 in the opening period, but the teams headed into the first intermission scoreless.
 
-With the Bengals on the power play, Norrman had to make an excellent save on a breakaway attempt by Ethan Homitz to keep the game tied in the opening minutes of the second period.
 
-Cortland opened the scoring just past the midway point of the period, as Nate Berke rifled in a shot off a cross ice feed from a teammate.
 
-Norrman made 15 saves in the second period to keep Buffalo State close at the second intermission.
 
-The Red Dragons built their lead in the third period, as Homitz fired in a rebound less than six minutes into the third.
 
-Cortland added a pair of insurance goals later in the period for the final 4-0 tally.
 
FOR THE FOES
 
-Four different Red Dragons scored, while 11 different players tallied a point in the victory.

-Durante stopped 28 shots to earn the shutout.
