BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo State women's hockey team fell to Potsdam, 5-0, in NEWHL action on Friday evening at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Potsdam scored the first goal of the game with just over four minutes remaining in the opening period, as Stephanie Dunlap tapped in a perfect cross-ice feed from Sara Barrett.
- The teams headed to the locker rooms with the Bears leading 1-0.
- The Bears added two goals in quick succession early in the second period to build a three-goal lead.
- At the midway point of the second period, Auge made an athletic save to deny Potsdam's Megan Teachout on a breakaway to keep the score at 3-0.
- One minute later, Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) had a shot from in front of the net stopped well by the Potsdam goalie.
- The Bears added another goal late in the period to take a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.
- Five minutes into the third period, Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Elite Southern Express) and Tori Fadeley (Buffalo, NY/Cazenovia Chiefs) were denied on back-to-back breakaway attempts.
- Seconds later, Potsdam added another goal on the other end to take a 5-0 lead.
- The Bengals' best chance of the game came with 12 minutes remaining, as Tingley's shot slid past the goalie, but came to a stop just an inch from the goal line, where it was cleared away by a Potsdam defender.
FOR THE FOES
- Ellie Cleary and Barrett each tallied a goal and an assist
- Ellie Zurfluh made 19 saves in goal to earn the shutout.
