BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team was unable to hold an early lead, and lost a 5-2 decision to Potsdam in NEWHL action on Saturday afternoon at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Potsdam struck first just over six minutes into the opening period.
-Garrow responded for Buffalo State one minute later to tie the game at 1-1, with Cruzal and
Rianna Schacher (Westminster, CO/Minnesota Revolution) nabbing assists.
-Cruzal scored with under five minutes remaining in the period to give the Bengals a 2-1 lead, off assists from Garrow and
Katie Sarich (Columbia, MD/Washington Pride).
-Just past the midway point in the second period, the Bears scored to tie the game at 2-2, and the game remained even into the second intermission.
-The Bears scored a power-play goal just nine minutes into the third period to take the lead.
-Potsdam added another goal with just over six minutes left, and an empty net goal with five seconds remaining for the 5-2 final score.

-Megan Teachout scored the game-winning goal for Potsdam.
