Women’s Lacrosse hosts Wells in midweek clash

Buffalo, N.Y.- The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team looks to bounce back with a matchup versus Wells College this Wednesday at Coyer Field, with the opening draw beginning at 4 p.m.

Eye on the Bengals
 
  • The Bengals (1-1) will look to bounce back Wednesday after a 17-3 loss to Allegheny last Saturday.
  • In this past week lacrosse games, Sarah Fineour (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) scored four goals in her first game as a Bengal against Medaille College on Wednesday.
  • Lauren Rinow (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) scored twice and added an assist as well
  • During Saturday's contest against Alleghany, Liz Schultheis (Holley, NY/Brockport) led the team offensively, scoring a goal and adding an assist. She also won five draws.
  • Fineour and Schultheis were named Bengal Athletes of the Week for their performances in the season opening week.
 
Inside Wells College
 
  • Wells College (0-2) are on a two-game losing streak and are looking to defeat the Bengals for its first victory of the season.
  • The Express dropped its last matchup this past Friday, falling to Keuka by an 18-5 margin.
  • Clara Lima scored all five goals Wells College had against Keuka College. She leads the team with eight goals this season.
  • Lauren Spiegel had 13 saves against Keuka College. She leads the team with 32 saves so far in the season.
