Lacrosse Falls to Oneonta in Morning Contest

ONEONTA, NY – The Buffalo State lacrosse team was unable to overcome a difficult start in the first quarter, falling 19-6 on the road to Oneonta on Saturday morning .

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
 
-Kacey Stack (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) led Buffalo State with two goals, her third successive game with a goal, and second career multi-goal game.
 
-Liz Schultheis (Holley, NY/Brockport) and Julia Wachna (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga) each tallied a goal and an assist.
 
-Lindsay Wademan (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) and Ricki Miller (Ohsweken, ON/Hagersville) scored the other Buffalo State goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
-Oneonta scored nine consecutive goals to open the game, taking a 9-0 lead at the midway point of the second quarter.
 
-Miller and Schultheis scored ten seconds apart to opening the scoring for Buffalo State and bring the score to 9-2 with just under six minutes left in the half.
 
-After another Red Dragon goal, Wachna netted a free position goal with under one minute remaining to make it 10-3 at halftime.
 
-Oneonta extended its lead in the third quarter, scoring seven times in the third quarter. Stack scored a free position goal for Buffalo State's only score of the period.
 
-Both teams scored twice in the fourth quarter, with Wademan scoring after a solid feed from Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Strathmore) and Stack completing the scoring with an unassisted goal in the final minute.
 
FOR THE FOES
 
-Megan Foiles had five goals and eight assists for Oneonta.
 
-Rachel Morris scored four times, and also recorded nine draw controls.
 
UP NEXT
