Lacrosse Falls to Brockport in Penultimate Home Game

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State lacrosse team dropped a SUNYAC game to Brockport on Wednesday evening, falling 21-4 at Coyer Field.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
 
-Julia Wachna (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga) and Ricki Miller (Ohsweken, ON/Hagersville) led Buffalo State with a goal and an assist each.
 
-Anastacia Wells (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) caused five turnovers, and is now one shy of tying the Buffalo State program record for most caused turnovers in a single season.
 
-Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Strathmore) and Alicia Vogl (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) also scored for the Bengals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
-After Brockport opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, Vogl responded with a goal to tie the score at 1-1.
 
-Brockport went on a 12-0 run over the next 22 minutes to take a 13-1 lead.
 
-Miller broke the Buffalo State scoring drought with a goal with under four minutes left in the half, but the Golden Eagles added another goal of their own for a 14-2 halftime lead.
 
-Janae Nelson (Elmont, NY/Elmont Memorial) made five saves in the third quarter, as Buffalo State allowed just two Brockport goals in the period.
 
-Running Rabbit and Wachna tallied goals for Buffalo State in the fourth quarter, but Brockport maintained a comfortable advantage for the 21-4 final score.
 
FOR THE FOES
 
-Claire Odett had three goals and five assists, while Cassidy Burnash and Logan Hibbard each tallied three goals and three assists for the Golden Eagles.
 
-Morgan Elmer and Erin Lant each played a half in goal, each making three saves.
