POTSDAM, NY – Liz Schultheis (Holley, NY/Brockport) scored a career-high six goals, and tied the Buffalo State lacrosse single-game draw control record, but the host Bears outscored the Bengals 12-4 in the second half for a 18-11 victory on Saturday afternoon.

-Schultheis's six goals came on a team-high nine shots, and her 18 draw controls matched a mark set by Karen Shaddock against Elmira in 2012.

Sarah Fineour (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West had two goals and two assists apiece.

Lauren Rinow (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) scored a goal, while

HOW IT HAPPENED
-With the score tied at 3-3 with under four minutes remaining in the first period, Schultheis and Rinow tallied goals to give the Bengals a 5-3 lead after one.
-The teams traded goals early in the second quarter, and Potsdam closed to within 7-6 in the final minute of the half.
-The Bears took advantage of three Buffalo State yellow cards in the third quarter to outscore Buffalo State 5-1 and hold an 11-8 lead after three.
-Potsdam built its lead to as many as eight in the fourth quarter, and cruised to the 18-11 win.
FOR THE FOES
-Kyrsten Stone had five goals and three assists, while Anita Reitano had five goals and two assists.
-Netta Terrance made 11 saves to record the win in goal.
