BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team fell just short in their comeback effort against Fredonia as they fell 71-70 tonight at the Sports Arena.

- Robert Richards (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) tallied a double-double as he scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds.
- Matt Parkinson (Springfield Gardens, NY/John Browne) led the Bengals with 16 points.
- DaRon Hughey (Hartford, CT/The Masters School) scored 14 points for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Devils opened the night on a quick 6-2 run.
- Fredonia would end the half on 7-2 run and would lead by 17 at the half, with a score of 40-23.
- After the break, the Bengals found their groove and slowly chipped away at the Blue Devil lead.
- Buffalo State went on a strong run and would take the lead late after a Parkinson layup.
- The Blue Devils retook the lead; however, the Bengals were able to take advantage of miscues from Fredonia to find themselves in a one possession game with :10 seconds to go.
- Fredonia would hang on at the buzzer to clinch the nail-biting victory.
FOR THE FOES
- AJ Knight registered a double-double effort for Fredonia as he netted 28 points and 12 rebounds.
- Aaron Collins and My'Kell Kaigler also had double-digit performances.
