GENESEO, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team dropped a SUNYAC contest on the road against Geneseo in straight sets on Friday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Eden Harrison (Eldersburg, MD/Century), Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith), and Samantha Coakley (Lockport, NY/Lockport) each tallied five kills to lead the Bengals.
- Adi Vergara (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico/Kingdom Christian) recorded her 14th game with double-digit digs this season, tallying 12 digs.
- Riley Domin (Getzville, NY/Williamsville South) had 11 assists for Buffalo State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the opening set, but the Bengals pulled to within two after a 12-7 run. Geneseo called a timeout, and immediately regrouped to win the next five points, then went on the earn the victory in the first set by a score of 25-18.
- Buffalo State led 7-3 early in the second set after kills from McCartney Geartz (N. Tonawanda, NY/N. Tonawanda) and Erin Mergler (Amherst, NY/Williamsville North). The Knights fought back to within two at 10-8, then went on a 10-0 run to turn a deficit into a commanding eight-point advantage. Buffalo State was only able to get within six after an ace by Harrison, before Geneseo closed out the set.
- A 6-0 run early in the third set gave Geneseo a 10-5 lead, before a three-point run that included kills by Coakley and Wittman made it 10-8. The Knights then won six of the next seven points, before eventually closing out the match by winning six of the final eight points.
FOR THE FOES
- Julia Wallace led Geneseo with eight kills, while Madison Popielski had seven kills and 15 digs.
