HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State struck quickly to begin the scoring, as Prieto's pass from the goal line bounced off a defender and was headed in by Rivera just across the line to give the Bengals the lead.
- Minutes later, Rivera rung a shot off the crossbar and straight down into the ground with a chance to double the Buffalo State advantage.
- The Bengals held the 1-0 lead into halftime as Wirt handled all four shots on target.
- Colella struck for Buffalo State early in the second half, redirecting a hard cross from Prieto with a header into the right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
- The Bengals dominated for much of the second half, holding an 8-1 edge in shots on target in the half.
- Wirt had to make a sprawling save on a free kick by Geneseo in the 64th minute, and Riley Quinn (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) made an excellent defensive play to clear danger in front of goal to preserve the clean sheet.
