ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team opened their season tonight in the opening game of the Golden Flyer Invitational, but fell to the host-Nazareth Golden Flyers with a 91-65 final at the Kidera Gym.

- Matt Parkinson (Springfield Gardens, NY/John Browne) led the Bengals on offense with 13 points.
- Nigel Burch (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) and Will Beard (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Media Studies) each chipped-in nine in their Bengal debuts.
- Brendyn Cheng (Huntington, NY/Commack) led the team with seven rebounds.
- As a team, Buffalo State was 12-14 from the free throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth opened the contest with a quick 15-5 start.
- After a layup from Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham), the Bengals were able to cut the lead down to six.
- The Golden Flyers pulled away late in the second half and held a 44-29 lead after 20 minutes of action.
- Nazareth was able to cruise in the second half with their lead going to a game-high 28 points.
- The Bengals were able to tally 36 points off the bench.
FOR THE FOES
- Jack Broderick led the Golden Flyers with a game-high 22 points.
- Nazareth had three other players score over ten points in the win.
