NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Buffalo State men's basketball team fell behind early, and dropped a non-conference contest to Mary Washington by a final score of 94-42 to close out the Christopher Newport Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

- Bryce Williams (Jamaica, NY/Campus Magnet) led Buffalo State with 15 points. Williams was also named to the All-Tournament Team for the weekend.
- Elijah Umeh (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) grabbed seven rebounds for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mary Washington scored the first seven points of the contest, and jumped out to a 22-5 lead just past the halfway mark of the first half.
- A 9-2 run by the Bengals reduced the Eagles' lead to 10 after a 3-pointer by Jaiden Allen (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro).
- Mary Washington then scored the next 15 points to reestablish control with a 39-14 lead.
- The Bengals closed the half on a 5-0 run thanks to a 3-pointer by Will Beard (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Media Studies).
- Over the first 7:31 of the second half, the Eagles scored 22 straight points to pull away with a 61-19 lead, and led by as many as 55 late in the contest.
FOR THE FOES
- Daniel Peterson led all scorers with 22 points for Mary Washington, and also grabbed seven rebounds.
- The Eagles shot 56.5% from the field as a team.
