POTSDAM, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team dropped a NEWHL contest by a final score of 5-0 to Potsdam on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The top goal scorer in the NEWHL in Kaylee Merrill netted a pair of goals within two minutes in the middle of the first period, giving the Bears a 2-0 edge into the first intermission.
- Potsdam held Buffalo State to just three shots on goal, while the Bears were only able to muster six of their own.
- With under one minute remaining in the second period, Rebecca Holmes added another tally to extend the Potsdam lead.
- Holmes scored once again just 4:54 into the third period, and Megan Teachout finished the scoring with a power-play goal with under 11 minutes remaining in regulation.
- Potsdam outshot Buffalo State 29-24 in the contest.
FOR THE FOES
- Merrill and Holmes each recorded four points, scoring twice and adding a pair of assists apiece.
- Teachout scored once and had two assists.
