CLERMONT, FL – The Buffalo State softball team slugged out 23 combined hits to earn a pair of come-from-behind victories on Monday morning, defeating St. Lawrence 15-2 and Keuka 5-2 to wrap up day two at THE Spring Games in Clermont, FL.
INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORES
- Caitlyn Parsons (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) went 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and four RBI for the Bengals.
- Sarah Congelosi (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) went 2-for-2, scored a run and also stole a base.
- Oriana Castello (Pearl River, NY/Nanuet) recorded three hits.
- Sydney Shuta (Newburgh, NY/Marlboro), Olivia Kowalik (Amherst, NY/Amherst), Deme Kellogg (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), Sydney Bielicki (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Kayla Wolinski (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) each had two hits.
- Kaitlyn Schnitzer (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) drove in three runs, and pitched five innings in game two to earn the victory.
- Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) pitched six effective innings over the two games to record a win and a save.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Lawrence took the lead in the first inning, but Buffalo State quickly responded with a pair of runs in the second inning.
- The Bengals' offense erupted for eight runs in the third inning, and five more in the fourth inning.
- Parsons had a pair of run-scoring hits in the third inning, and Shuta and Bielicki also had RBI in the inning.
- Castello, Sam Schafer (Depew, NY/Lancaster), and Parsons each RBI hits in the fourth inning.
- The Saints were able to scratch out one run in the fifth inning, but the Bengals cruised to the run-rule victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Stella VanGee and Meredith Rose had two hits apiece for St. Lawrence.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Keuka struck first for a pair of runs in the third inning on a Kelsey Mohl two-run single.
- Buffalo State bounced back with five runs in the fourth inning, starting with a RBI single by Parsons.
- Mya Hurley (Williamsville, NY/Amherst) followed it up with a RBI single to right field, and Schnitzer's double to left center gave the Bengals the lead for good.
- Lucas closed out the victory with five strikeouts over the final two innings for the save.
FOR THE FOES
- Mohl's hit scored Keuka's two runs.
