CLERMONT, FL – Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) pitched phenomenally for a complete-game victory in game two as the Buffalo State softball team earned a split of two games on Tuesday morning in Clermont, FL.
INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORES
- Lucas surrendered just one unearned run over seven innings to earn her second victory of the year.
- Sydney Bielicki (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) went 2-for-5 for the day, while Oriana Castello (Pearl River, NY/Nanuet) also recorded two hits.
- Caitlyn Parsons (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), Jenna Wlostowski (Lancaster, NY/Alden), and Kayla Wolinski (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) each drove in a run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals started quickly in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead early.
- Castello led off with a single, stole second, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Bielicki, and scored on a run-scoring grounder by Wolinski.
- Buffalo State extended its lead to 2-0 after Wolinski was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored on Parsons' RBI single just out of the reach of the shortstop.
- Union halved the deficit in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Lucas was able to limit the damage and maintain the lead for the Bengals.
- Lucas stranded runners in scoring position in the fifth and sixth innings, and closed out the victory with a 1-2-3 seventh inning.

- Amanda Granato pitched effectively for the Dutchwomen, allowing just two runs over seven innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse took an early lead with two runs in the first inning and four more in the second inning.
- Bielicki recorded both of Buffalo State's hits off Luther starter Kendra Cooper in the first four innings.
- After Luther scored four more runs, Buffalo State was able to break up the shutout after back-to-back singles by Sarah Congelosi (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) and Olivia Kowalik (Amherst, NY/Amherst), a walk by Sydney Shuta (Newburgh, NY/Marlboro), and Wlostowski's RBI single through the left side of the infield.
FOR THE FOES
- Chloe Wagner had two hits and drove in four runs for Luther.
