LOCATION: Legends Way Complex – Clermont, FL

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A leadoff single, stolen base, groundout and wild pitch allowed Trinity to score the opening runs of the game in the top of the first inning.
  • Buffalo State responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning, as Oriana Castello (Pearl River, NY/Nanuet) walked, advanced to third on Bielicki's bunt single, and scored on Wolinski's RBI groundout. Bielicki trotted home two batters later on a RBI single through the right side of the infield by Congelosi.
  • The second of four Tiffany Stowers' hits tied the game up in the top of the third inning, taking advantage of a Buffalo State fielding error.
  • The Bantams struck for a pair of unearned runs in the top of the fifth inning, as Alyssa Gazivoda lined a two-run single up the middle.
  • The Bengals got a run back in the bottom half of the inning, as Congelosi sent a grounder through the middle to drive in Wolinski.
  • Kaitlyn Schnitzer (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) allowed just one hit over the final two innings to keep the deficit at 4-3, but the Bengals were unable to equalize despite having runners on base in their final two chances at bat.
FOR THE FOES
  • Stowers pitched a complete game to earn the victory in addition to her four hits.
