BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State softball team is back in action today, hosting Alfred University in a non-conference doubleheader at 3 pm and 5 pm.

EYES ON THE BENGALS
 

• Buffalo State enters play today with a 15-7 overall record (5-1 SUNYAC) after winning three out of four SUNYAC contests over the weekend, sweeping Brockport, and splitting a doubleheader with Geneseo.
• Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) has won her last six starts for the Bengals, and has a 9-2 overall record. With another victory, she would become the first Buffalo State pitcher with 10 wins in a season since Marissa Hayes in 2018.
• Sydney Bielicki (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) was named the SUNYAC Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Across eight games last week, Bielicki sported a .652 batting average with 15 hits in 23 at bats, two doubles, a home run, seven RBIs, and nine runs scored.
• Oriana Castello and Kayla Wolinski are each closing in on career milestones. Wolinski is 12 hits away from reaching 100 for her career, while Castello is 10 hits away from 150.

• Alfred sits at 12-10-1 (5-1 Empire 8) after splitting a non-conference doubleheader against Penn State Behrend yesterday afternoon.

• Mya Wells is riding an 18-game hitting streak for the Saxons, and has a .493 batting average for the season to lead the team.
• Arden Hatch has five complete games on the rubber for Alfred, while Megan Bennett has four complete games. Bennett also threw her first shutout of the season in the Saxons' last game against Penn State Behrend.
