Women's Lacrosse Falls Short Against New Paltz

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team fell short in their contest with the New Paltz Hawks this afternoon by a final score of 15-3 at Coyer Field.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Emilee Josker (Hamburg, NY/Frontier), Sarah Fineour (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East), and Kacey Stack (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) each scored for the Bengals.
  • Anastacia Wells (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) had two caused turnovers and three groundballs.
  • Beth Kulikowski (Grand Island, Ny/Grand Island) and Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) combined to make 15 saves in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State cracked the ice as Stack netted the first goal of the game from the free position.
  • New Paltz would respond with three unanswered goals to close out the first.
  • The Hawks added three more goals in the second and head into halftime leading 6-1.
  • New Paltz would open the third with four more goals.
  • The Bengals would respond with two of their own thanks to goals from Josker and Fineour.
  • The Hawks remained in control the rest of the way to secure the win.
FOR THE FOES
  • Morgan Atwater tallied five goals for the Hawks.
  • Kaitlyn Shaw added four of her own with six draw controls.
  • Gabriella Tommaso made five saves in the win.
