NEW PALTZ, NY – The Buffalo State softball team dropped their opening game of the SUNYAC Tournament to the Geneseo Knights by a final score of 3-0. The team will look to bounce-back and stay alive in the tournament tomorrow morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights offense got started early as they cashed in two runs in the bottom of the first following a two-run single from Samantha Martz.
- Lucas and Elizabeth Eberhardt would be locked in a classic pitchers' duel until the Knights struck again in the fifth inning.
- Buffalo State got a runner to third in the top of the inning but were unable to cash in.
- Rebecca Schwartz laced an RBI single to center to put the Knights up 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth.
- The Bengals rallied in their last chance at the plate but were unable to get any runs across.
FOR THE FOES
- Eberhardt allowed five hits with six strikeouts to earn the complete game shutout.
- Schwartz had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Knights on offense.
